Modern English for an approachable everyday read.Read WEBThese tools serve different reading habits. The generator offers a new selection whenever you ask for one. Today's Bible verse offers a stable, dated reading. Neither approach replaces reading a book in order; choose the starting point that suits the time and attention you have today.
Choose this tool when you want an unfamiliar passage, a reading-group starting point, or a verse from a particular book or topic. Leave both filters open for the widest selection. To focus on a book, choose it first and keep All Topics selected. Adding a topic narrows the pool to editorially selected references within that book; it is not a search for every verse about that subject.
Generate again when you want another starting point, but pause before moving on from each result. Open its chapter, notice the surrounding conversation, and decide whether to continue reading there. If you want to locate words you remember rather than receive a random selection, the Bible verse finder is the more direct route.
Today's Verse suits a morning habit or a group reading the same passage. The same chosen date produces the same reference, including when you switch between KJV and WEB. Its date and timezone controls let you return to an earlier reading or open the day you want. Generating random verses does not change that dated selection.
If a verse raises a question, select Read Chapter before looking for another result. Follow Previous and Next to read in sequence, or use the random Bible chapter generator when you want a complete chapter selected for you. For a quick starting passage, the random Bible verse homepage remains available. Keep the edition and reference when sharing so another reader can find the same text.
Yes. Each request counts the verses matching your selected translation, book, and topic, then uses a cryptographically generated random position to select one. Every eligible verse has the same chance. It does not rank passages by popularity or choose a personal message for you.
Yes. Both filters apply together. A topic draws from Orahly's curated collection, so a book-and-topic combination can contain only a few verses or have no match. Choose All Topics or All 66 Books to broaden the selection when needed.
Each selection is independent. The generator does not remove a verse after showing it or maintain a list of passages you have already seen. Repeats are possible, especially in a small filtered collection. Save passages you want to revisit instead of relying on another random selection.
No. It selects existing text from the King James Version or World English Bible and includes the reference. It does not use AI to compose, rewrite, or interpret a verse. A random selection does not predict events or establish what a passage means for a personal decision.
Yes. Select Read Chapter beneath the verse to open the complete surrounding chapter in the same translation. Previous and Next let you continue through the book. For a longer random reading from the start, use the separate random Bible chapter generator.
Open Share Image and choose Copy Link to keep the exact reference and translation. Opening that link returns to that passage rather than making another random selection. Save keeps a verse in this browser's local collection; export a backup before clearing browser storage or moving devices.
